About the Foundation
The Diabetes Management & Supplies Foundation aspires to bolster the physical and emotional well-being of individuals from a broad range of effective nonprofits operating in the areas of health, medical research, community and social services.
The Foundation, established in 2011 as a 5013(c), is administrated by a board of trustees selected by the DMS executive group. Diabetes-focused organizations benefitting from the Foundation include the American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Recognizing its obligation as a civic partner and good neighbor, the Foundation supports Metro New Orleans battered women’s and homeless shelters as well as nonprofits lending support to needy and under-privileged children. Diabetes Management & Supplies was founded in 1997 by pharmaceutical and medical device industry veteran, Cynthia Pazos. While helping her mother-in-law struggle with complications of diabetes, Cindy learned firsthand of the need for effective diabetes treatment and self-management.
The DMS model is simple: provide appropriate treatment, education and support that will make people with diabetes more effective in the self-management of their disease.
